Set three years after the events of the first movie, Patlabor 2 is darker and more mature than previous franchise releases, venturing into greater political and philosophical musings and implications. When a United Nations Labors team is attacked, it marks the beginning of war for Japan. As time ticks down, the Special Vehicle Division and other Japanese police units rush to prepare Japan against impending terrorist attacks, and panic slowly settles in the streets of Tokyo. Matters become even more complicated when the team discovers that the leader of the terrorist group is Captain Nagumo’s former teacher and lover.”
